US President Donald Trump has expressed his intention to negotiate an agreement addressing Iran’s nuclear weapons program, revealing that he sent a letter to Iranian leadership on Thursday to encourage dialogue.
In an interview with Fox Business Network aired on Friday, Trump once again voiced his openness to talks with Tehran.
“I believe they want to receive that letter. The alternative would require us to take action, because allowing another nuclear weapon is simply not an option,” he said.

The letter is believed to have been addressed to Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. The White House has yet to provide an official response regarding the communication.
Meanwhile, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Sergei Ryabkov met with Iranian Ambassador Kazem Jalali on Friday. According to a statement from the Russian Foreign Ministry, the two discussed ongoing international efforts aimed at addressing concerns surrounding Iran’s nuclear program.
