Regulators Issue Recall for Nearly All Tesla Cybertrucks in Latest Setback

Tesla Cybertrucks Recalled Over Safety Concerns as Regulators Flag Detaching Panel

U.S. safety regulators have issued a recall affecting nearly all Tesla Cybertrucks currently on the road, marking the eighth recall since the vehicle’s launch just over a year ago.

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) announced that more than 46,000 Cybertrucks are impacted due to a potential hazard involving an exterior panel running along both sides of the windshield. The panel, known as the cant rail assembly, may detach while driving, posing a safety risk to other motorists and increasing the chance of an accident.

The issue stems from the adhesive used to secure the stainless steel strip, which may be prone to environmental weakening. To resolve the problem, Tesla will apply a more durable adhesive and additional reinforcements. The repair will be provided at no cost to owners.

The recall applies to Cybertrucks from the 2024 and 2025 model years, manufactured between November 13, 2023, and February 27, 2025. Tesla identified the defect earlier this year, and owner notification letters are scheduled to be mailed by May 19, 2025.
