Tech billionaire Elon Musk sparked controversy after calling U.S. Senator Mark Kelly a “traitor” for his recent visit to Ukraine. Musk’s comment came after Kelly met with Ukrainian officials to discuss U.S. military aid and intelligence-sharing amid the ongoing war with Russia.
Kelly, a former astronaut and Navy veteran, swiftly responded, dismissing Musk’s accusation as baseless. He emphasized that his trip aimed to assess the situation on the ground and reinforce America’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s defense. The senator also criticized the recent suspension of intelligence-sharing with Ukraine, arguing that it undermines their ability to counter Russian attacks effectively.

Musk, who has played a key role in Ukraine’s connectivity through his Starlink satellites, has been vocal about his opposition to prolonged U.S. involvement in the conflict. His stance has drawn both support and criticism, with some questioning his influence over geopolitical matters.
Despite Musk’s remarks, Kelly remained firm in his position, stating that standing with Ukraine aligns with U.S. interests and global security. The exchange has intensified debates on America’s role in the war and whether political figures or private individuals should shape foreign policy decisions.
